TWEFDA’s purpose is to reduce carbon dependency by making renewable energy more flexible: generating when energy is needed, storing when flexibility is needed, coordinating multiple resources and preserving useful offshore infrastructure where appropriate.

THE COMPANY STARTED BY LOOKING AT WASTE DIFFERENTLY.
TWEFDA’s founder, Javier Domínguez, first developed the habit of asking whether a liability could become a resource while working in industrial maintenance. That way of thinking later met the offshore world: decommissionable oil-and-gas assets represented cost, material and infrastructure that might still have another useful life.
At the same time, the motion of large buoyant bodies in the ocean raised another question: could the mass, motion and infrastructure already present offshore be used more intelligently?
TWEFDA grew from combining those questions. The result was not one invention, but a widening architecture — ESWave, Weight-Changing Energy, storage, the Association, the Hub and the idea of reusing offshore infrastructure as part of the energy transition.

TWEFDA’s vision has always referred to the generations that come after us. The small child holding the Earth is not decoration: it represents the reason the company keeps asking whether energy infrastructure can be more useful, more circular and less carbon-intensive.

TWEFDA Limited is incorporated in Scotland, company number SC585091. The company was founded in 2018 and continues to develop the technology and intellectual property created by its founder.
The European patent has been granted, with further protection being pursued in other major jurisdictions. WaveAmp provides a focused European route for commercialising Weight-Changing Energy while TWEFDA retains the broader platform.
