Welcome to TWEFDA

THANK YOU FOR VISITING TWEFDA.

TWEFDA is not designed as a conventional collection of independent webpages. Its pages and sections form an interconnected story — one that you can explore freely, or experience with narration and visual guidance.

But there is another reason for this Visitor Guide.

TWEFDA DOES NOT MEAN THE SAME THING TO EVERYONE. The underlying technology may be the same — but the value it can create depends on who is looking at it.

For investors

IP + commercial take-off + scalable licensing economics.

A protected technology platform, a defined first commercial route through WaveAmp, and a model intended to scale through licensing and royalties.

For industry

Integrate and license — without TWEFDA becoming the EPC.

A technology platform intended to complement developers, EPCs, infrastructure owners and commercial partners rather than replace them.

For citizens & taxpayers

More social and energy value from infrastructure and resources.

An exploration of whether energy infrastructure can deliver greater flexibility, usefulness and value from the resources committed to it.

For academia

Hypotheses that can be tested, challenged and independently validated.

A route based on scrutiny, simulation, experimentation, independent testing and evidence.

For public & social partners

Value that should extend beyond the technology itself.

Energy resilience, decarbonisation, industrial development, infrastructure efficiency, skills and societal value are part of the wider context.

SO, WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Choose the perspective closest to yours. The technology will not change — but the part of the story that matters most to you might.

Investors · What's in it for you?

A PROTECTED TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM WITH A DEFINED COMMERCIAL TAKE-OFF.

For an investor, TWEFDA is not simply an energy technology. It combines intellectual property, a defined first route to market, identifiable value-creation milestones and a commercial model designed around licensing and royalties.

Protected platform

You are looking at more than one product.

TWEFDA owns the wider technology and IP platform. Its European patent has been granted, further territorial protection is being pursued, and the scope extends beyond the first commercial application.

First commercial take-off

WaveAmp is the first stage — not the limit of TWEFDA.

WaveAmp focuses the first route: Weight-Changing Energy · Europe · Licensing & Royalties.

Capital → milestones → value

Capital should change the position of the business.

IP & commercial structure → Prototype → Independent testing → Validation → Commercial engagement.

Scalable economics

Commercial scale can come from deployment by others.

WaveAmp is intended to monetise technology primarily through licensing and royalty-based economics rather than becoming a capital-intensive EPC.

AND IF WAVEAMP SUCCEEDS? TWEFDA is intended to become a shareholder in WaveAmp, allowing the first commercial route to create value both as a business and as an asset capable of strengthening TWEFDA's future financial position.

The strategic objective is that TWEFDA's next major investment round should not begin as previous ones have: with valuable technology, but insufficient financial resources. Instead, it should be approached with greater validation, commercial traction, shareholder value and potentially financial returns generated through its first commercial route.

Industry · What's in it for you?

A TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM DESIGNED TO WORK WITH INDUSTRY — NOT REPLACE IT.

TWEFDA does not intend to become the shipyard, EPC, technology developer, energy seller and infrastructure owner all at once.

CREATE THE TECHNOLOGY. PROTECT IT. VALIDATE IT. ENABLE OTHERS TO DEPLOY IT.

Technology developers

Your technology remains yours.

TWEFDA technology may complement an existing device or energy-conversion system. The Retrofit route is intended to add another layer of value without replacing the underlying technology.

EPCs

TWEFDA does not need to become your competitor.

Established EPC capability can remain focused on engineering, procurement, integration and delivery while TWEFDA contributes protected technology and commercial rights.

Energy sellers & operators

Timing and controllability matter.

The value of energy increasingly depends not only on how much is produced, but also on when, how and under what system conditions it becomes available.

Infrastructure owners

What more can the infrastructure we already have do?

TWEFDA explores whether existing offshore and energy infrastructure can gain additional functions, additional energy pathways or a new commercial purpose.

Citizens & Taxpayers · What's in it for you?

OUR BUSINESS IS YOUR BUSINESS TOO.

Every time you pay your energy bill or your taxes, you contribute to the cost of our energy system. The United Kingdom shows the scale of what is at stake.

UK · Estimated future public cost

£11.7 billion

The estimated cost to the Exchequer of tax relief and repayments associated with decommissioning UK oil and gas infrastructure. This is a cumulative estimate of future costs, published in February 2026, not an annual figure.

Great Britain · Financial year 2024/25

£1.7 billion in one year

The cost of managing thermal constraints on the electricity network. This includes reducing generation where the network cannot carry it and adjusting production elsewhere. It is a broader category than payments to switch off wind turbines.

ESWave proposes bringing generation and storage together in a single machine. The TWEFDA Association takes that integration to another scale: six ESWaves coordinated through a Hub, conceived to manage together how energy is captured, stored and delivered. Its ambition is to create an offshore energy ecosystem with an identity of its own, able to connect other sources, such as wind farms, and adapt its operation to the needs of the grid.

For us, the value lies in everything that coordination could make possible: making use of energy that would otherwise be lost, sharing infrastructure and delivering power when it is most useful. TWEFDA seeks to design generation, storage and connection as parts of the same system. That purpose brings our business interests together with those of society: contributing to a more efficient, reliable and responsible energy supply.

The proposed architecture and its benefits remain subject to validation.

You can be part of that journey: contribute knowledge, collaborate in its development, support its testing or share the proposal with people who can help make it a reality. Think about what you can contribute to make this project yours too.

Academia & Research · What's in it for you?

A TECHNOLOGY IS MORE INTERESTING WHEN IT CAN BE CHALLENGED.

TWEFDA does not regard academic scrutiny as an obstacle to commercialisation. It is part of the route towards it.

THE OBJECTIVE IS NOT TO ELIMINATE UNCERTAINTY WITH LANGUAGE. IT IS TO REDUCE UNCERTAINTY WITH EVIDENCE.

From claim to evidence

Concept → modelling → analysis → prototype → testing → measured performance → validation.

TWEFDA's development route must progressively move through different levels of confidence.

Hydrodynamics & control

Questions worth testing.

How does the system behave under real wave conditions? How effectively can operating modes be coordinated?

Energy systems, engineering & economics

The machine is only part of the research question.

Grid value, offshore engineering, materials, maintainability, policy and commercial viability all create testable questions.

Independence matters

A result is more valuable when it does not depend solely on the inventor's own model.

External testing should reveal not only what works, but where assumptions fail and where designs or claims must change.

Research collaboration can also create value before commercialisation through technical validation, student and researcher development, datasets, papers, methods, simulation capability and a deeper understanding of offshore energy systems.

Public & Social Partners · What's in it for you?

THE ENERGY TRANSITION IS NOT ONLY A TECHNOLOGY PROJECT.

It affects infrastructure, industry, employment, public expenditure, communities, environmental priorities, energy security and the affordability of energy itself.

Public-sector organisations

Create a route for credible innovation to be tested objectively.

TWEFDA may be relevant where renewable energy, grid flexibility, resilience, offshore infrastructure, innovation and industrial development intersect with public priorities.

Regions & communities

Value cannot ultimately be assessed only in megawatts.

Local supply chains, skills, ports, employment, environmental effects, community interests and long-term infrastructure use all matter.

Environmental & social partners

Renewable does not automatically mean sustainable.

Material use, lifespan, maintenance, infrastructure requirements, ecological interaction and eventual decommissioning deserve scrutiny alongside engineering performance.

The Blue Economy

The sea is not an empty industrial space.

It is simultaneously an ecosystem, transport route, economic resource, energy resource, working environment and shared public space. Development should seek integration rather than assume entitlement.
